 As a producer, an author and a director, Nabil Ayouch has created around fifty commercials in Morocco and abroad since 1992. He is behind three short films,: Les Pierres bleues du désert in 1992, Hertzienne Connexion in 1993, Vendeur de Silence in 1994 and three full-length feature films: Mektoub in 1997(Official Moroccan nomination for the Oscars in 1998), Ali Zaoua in 2000 (Official Moroccan nomination for the Oscars in 2000) and Une minute de soleil en moins in 2002 (Awarded the ‘Prix des Industries Techniques’ at the Montpellier Mediterranean Festival). Nabil Ayouch set up Ali n’ Productions in 1999, producing and directing full-length feature films and Moroccan television series, short art-house videos in association with Fondation ONA, and 35 mm short films – eight of them within the framework of the Prix Mohamed Reggab. He is also the Co-founder of G.A.R.P. (Groupement des Auteurs Réalisateurs Producteurs). He founded the Coalition Marocaine pour la Diversité Culturelle (Moroccan Cultural Diversity Coalition) in 2003 and has provided training in film-making as a vocation. In 2006, he set up Meda Films Dévelopment with the backing of the European Union and created the Fondation du Festival International du Film de Marrakech as a way of encouraging producers and script-writers from the ten countries of the Southern rim of the Mediterranean by offering them support and mentoring during the development phase of their films.
