Krishna Lévy was born in Paris in 1964.
From the age of 5,   he followed private lessons in piano and theory and studied in  Boston  (USA) where he continued his musical training. He obtained  a  “degree in film scoring" Magna Cum Laude at at the Berkley College of Music in 1986, he studied with John Bavicchi, Robert Freedman, Herb Pomeroy and Michael Rendish , he  prepared a Masters in composition at the Conservatory of New England in 1990 and continued his studies with William Thomas McKinley.

He began his career as a composer-arranger for various Big bands and jazz bands, including:
The M.I.T. Jazz Band Festival, Herb Pomeroy's Concert Jazz Orchestra, Robert Freedman's recording Orchestra, Bruno Destrez'New Quartet, and many others.
He was also composer-arranger in residence for the Northeast Big band in 1985-1986,
Then  for the studio of Haut-Mesnil, in 1989.

He composed  music for various film production houses including:
TFI, France 2, France 3, Canal +, SEPT, M6, RAI, NOB, NOS, IMA, DEMD, Pathé, Lazenne, HDM, MK 2, ADR, First Time, Why not Productions, Playtime, Gloria Films, Loyalty Prod., Films ICI, Album Productins, Les Films Pelleas, Belbo Productions, Reflexe Media Productions, PCV Productions, First Generation, Les Films du Bois Sacred, The Ministry of Culture, New York University Experimental Theatre Branch in Paris , Alta Films, and many others.

He  gives concerts in the USA and France, as a contemporary composer and conductor

His catalogue  includes 24 feature films, 12 short films, 13 documentaries, 3 plays, 4 television films,  2 commercial films, 3   symphonic orchestra compositions and , 25  Big band compositions

He received numerous awards and prizes from
Berklee College of Music in 1986 and 1987
New England Conservatory in 1988 and 1989
The Ministry of Culture in 1990

He benefited from the CNC and SACEM fund for  film music  in 1988 1991 1992 1994 1995 and 2007

In 2001, Krishna Lévy was awarded Best prize at the International Festival of Auxerre for the original soundtrack of  the film "Ali Zaoua" and in 2003 he was nominated for the Césars for the original soundtrack of the  film "8 femmes"
Various Best music awards also for  original soundtracks : in 2004, in Cannes,   for "Je suis un assassin”  and in 2007 at the Miami Film Festival,   for "La nuit des Tournesols "
