Borderline is a 24 hour journey of two young women, an Israeli soldier and a Palestinian suicide bomber, in the war zone we call home; 24 hours that turns them from warriors to dreamers, from puppets to human beings, from soldiers to women; 24 hours that change their worlds.    

It starts with a ‘red alert’ morning in the border crossing. During the strict searching of Palestinians on their way into Israel - Irit (20), a sharp, ambitious Israeli soldier, spots Najua (20), as a potential suicide bomber. While searching her body - irony plays a little trick on them and another suicide bomber explodes himself at the border - turning it into a flaming hell. Some people are killed, some people saved, some lives are changed forever.  

The chaos enables Najua, an unplanned child in her stomach and a bomb in her bag, to run for her life. When Irit, winner of the local ‘shahid catching’ championship, regains her senses she starts chasing her, mistakenly thinking that Najua has stepped onto a bus on her way to explode it. Yet, irony plays another trick when a few miles later - a mysterious sound exposes Najua at the back of the very same jeep. While trying to prevent her from escaping once more - Irit shoots a bullet directly at her feet, but it richochets into the jeep's tire and punctures it. Now, miles away from the border, with no means of communication and no clear sense of where they are - the two enemies face each other, with nothing but their instincts to depend on and nothing to lose but their dignity. From that moment on they begin a rollercoaster journey in the ‘no man's land’ of the south that finally leads them to an isolated oasis, miraculously hidden within the desert sands. There, disarmed and unmasked, they finally get the chance to see each other as they really are - two young women dreaming of better lives.  

They didn’t realize, but it is the gathering place for a spiritual full moon celebration. They don't feel it yet - but they are about to experience something that is going to change their lives forever.

Borderline is a story of an extraordinary friendship between two young women, that life gave no chance, but destiny offers them a rare chance to fly away. Even if it is just for a brief moment…
