Graduated from EDAC (Ecole des Arts et du Cinéma de Tunis) and La Fémis (Paris) Kaouther Ben Hania studied direction at EDAC (Tunis School of Arts and Cinema) between 2002 and 2004.

Kaouther Ben Hania took a documentary class at the Fémis Summer University in 2004 before she enrolled the screenwriting department of La Fémis in 2005.

Then Kaouther Ben Hania worked in Aljazeera Documentary Channel (2006-2007).
She directed several short films: Un film narcissique de K (2001), La Fenêtre (2002) and La Brêche (2005) along with a short documentary, Panoramique sur le monde (2004).

Me,My sister and the thing (2006) is her last film.
