Azza El-Hassan is an Independent film-maker. Her work has been produced and shown by various international TV networks such as BBC, arte, YLE, ARD and many others. It has also been screened in film festivals and art venues around theworld like, Yamamgata Documentary Film Festival (Japan), International Film Festival IDFA (Holland), Lipzic (Germany) and many others.

El-Hassan is the winner of the 2006 Luchino Visconti Award - the Silver Hydrangea “Mediterranean Sensibilities," Italy; the 2002 Grierson Award for Best New Comer (The British Documentaries Awards, BBC); and the 2001 Jury Award (Arab Screen Independent Film Festival/ Documentary and Short Films) Al-Jazeera Channel, Qatar. She Holds an MA in Television Documentary, from GoldSmiths College, University of London (1995) and a BA in Film and Television Studies and Sociology from Glasgow University, Scotland (1994).

Her films include: "Always, Look them in the Eyes" (2007); "Kings & Extras” (2004); "3 cm Less" (2003); "News Time" (2002); "The Place" (2000); "Sinbad is She" (1999); "A Title Deed from Moses" (1998); Arab Women Speak Out" (1996).

Azza El-Hassan is currently developing her first fiction film which it's current working title is "A Story of a Palestinian Gangster".
