Fond of the Cinema since an early age, Hicham El Jebbari has participated, out of love and curiosity, in workshops about Film and Video Art at the University of Mannheim during his stay in Germany for the preparation of a Master of Public Administration Sciences.
From 2003 to 2007, Hicham El Jebbari was appointed Artistic Director of the National Theatre Mohammed V in Rabat.
Starting from 2004, he participated in the filming of a few TV movies and several short films as an assistant director, casting director or responsible for production.
t is in 2005, after having participated in training workshops about Video Art at Ali’n production, that he wrote and directed his first short film "Death at dawn”, which won the Special Prize of the Jury of ONA Foundation and Ali'n Production, and which was selected to be a Festival Opening Film of the 3rd Mediterranean Festival of Short Film held in Tangier in 2005.
Hicham El Jebbari is also the artistic director, founder or a member of the organising committee of several Film and Music Festivals (Maghreb Film Festival of Oujda, International Festival of author’s Film of Rabat, Ouazzane Festival of Authentic Arts…)
