Robert
Walpole is one of Ireland’s leading independent feature film
producers. His credits include the indie hits I
Went Down and
Man About Dog;
two of Ireland’s highest grossing movies ever. He also produced
Saltwater,
the directorial debut of Irish playwright Conor McPherson and The
Mighty Celt,
starring Robert Carlyle and Gillian Anderson which premiered at the
Berlinale in 2005.
His
latest production, the horror film Shrooms,
has just being completed and is being sold by London based sales
company Capitol Films. He is currently developing screenplays with
Booker winner Roddy Doyle, Oscar nominee Kirsten Sheridan, Conor
McPherson and Joseph O’Connor. He is a graduate of the EAVE
programme and acts as a consultant to Moonstone.
He has been a guest lecturer at
The Huston School of Film and Digital Media, The Dun Laoghire
Institute of Art Design and Technology and The UCD Film School. In addition to his work as a producer he has written several screenplays and holds an MA in screenwriting.
