M.F.D. is targeting MEDA country producers, along with their scriptwriters. Each year, 10 producers with a feature-length film project in development will be selected. They will attend the workshops with the project’s writer. There will be a total of 20 participants by year, over three years. In MEDA countries, as well as in European countries, collaboration between writers and producers is not easy. Today, the consensus is that this successful collaboration is the cement of a film’s identity, its potential quality and its sustainability. The goal of M.F.D. is to allow scriptwriters and producers to adopt a new way in conceiving, thinking and collaborating on the first steps of a feature-length film. Our objectives are to achieve the best possible quality for the project’s outcome. Often, writers and producers learn on the job, especially in MEDA countries. Their knowledge then builds progressively on experience. M.F.D.’s purpose is to host professionals at all stages of their career development. We believe the opportunity of reflecting and collaborating from the early stages of the film’s project is one of the key assets of this program. The selection committee will review both the strength of the producer/writer team and the quality of the project. |
